Qualifying for World Championship Play

Tournaments Cash Prize System:
Points received are based on a teams' total points accumulated during tournament play.  As long as a team participates in the tournament, they will receive points to help seed teams in the National Championships. 

Grand prizes in the World Championships will begin with the team with the highest point total being eligible for the full prize package and the team with the least overall point total, not being eligible to win any cash prizes.

THE NUMBER OF TEAMS ENTERED TO EACH TOURNAMENT WILL DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF PRIZE OFFERED AT EACH EVENT (PLEASE VIEW THE MCFFU PRIZE MATRIX).

Tournament Cash Matrix System:

All MCFFU Tournaments will have the "Cash Matrix System" in effect that offer cash prizes.  The MCFFU Cash Prize Matrix means that the prizes awarded at the participating tournament will be determined by the amount of teams entered into an event, for the style in question. 

Note: Cash Prizes will not be awarded at every tournament, nor is it mandatory.  This is to the discretion of the tournament director and the MCFFU Board.

Average Entry Fee: $295 + Ref Fees

Bids:  Bids can also be awarded in place of cash for tournaments with 9 teams or less (depending upon the tournament and the hosting director). 

MCFFU bids DO NOT include ref fees; teams are always responsible for ref fees at MCFFU events.

Matrix Changes:  MCFFU Cash Matrix are subject to change based on location of an event.  Any changes to the matrix will be announced immediately upon promotion of the event.

Note: Only after all participating teams have paid their entry fees and submitted their team rosters on-line will the cash prize for tournaments offering one, be released.  All Union tournaments do not offer cash rewards, only a select few.

Rankings:
All rankings will be based solely on team performances in MCFFU/USSSA tournaments and will be based on point accumulation and total team record. 

Teams will accumulate an overall tournament record based on their tournament performances.  We will keep the tournament records for the the entire year for each participating team going into the World Championships.

Teams may participate in multiple National(s) to receive more points; however they will only be ranked in their proper region/conference.  regardless of their finish the top seed will go to the team that comes from that region.

Qualifying for World Championship Play:

1. Highest point totals from the Select NIT’s played as a team in the 2008 season comprise the World Championship Standings. These standings are used to determine the top 9-Man Eligible and 8-Man Eligible teams in the US, and qualify them for the Flag Football World Championships.
2. Points are based on the MCFFU/USSSA National Point Scale.
3. Points for the National Championship events are worth approximately 50% more. Those events are VA Beach (VA), Biloxi (MS) and Las Vegas (NV).
4. In the event of a tie between two or more teams with accumulated points, the following criteria will apply:
   • Records head-to-head during the season between the tied teams.
   • Overall winning percentage in NIT play.
   • Tournament wins
   • Coin flip (if necessary).
