In what could be viewed as minor upset, Metro Oak, lead by Jesse Rodriguez of the San Diego Flag Football League defeated early favorites Daygo Funhouse 13-0 to the win the Temecula NIT. Metro earned 300 pts on the WC Circuit and has added depth to an already deep San Diego League that currently boasts some of the top 8v8 Eligible teams in the nation.

Metro, with their adjusted roster and new QB outscored their opponents by a whopping 81-7 count, including pitching a shut out in the championship game vs. and always tough Daygo Funhouse.  The defense had shutouts in 3 of the 4 games played. Though Metro has been competing on the WC Circuit for the last 3 years, look for Metro to be listed as an up and coming team to watch in 2009-10 with their revamped roster.
