NOTE: Points are not offered for the World Championships.  Upon the conclusion of the WC, all teams will begin at 0 points.  The MCFFU offers no rollover points from the previous season.

Tournaments Cash Prize System:
Points received are based on a teams' total points accumulated during SANCTIONED LEAGUE AND tournament play.  As long as a team participates in a sanctioned event, they will receive points to help seed them on the world Championship circuit.

The top 16 teams with the highest point total at the end of the season (March - December) will be eligible for the "PRO" Division in the World Championships.  All others will be eligible for the Open or Recreational Divisions.  Any team is eligible to participate in the World Championships; however, Total Point Accumulation will determine which bracket teams will compete in during the WC based on the top 16 teams with the most points at season's end.

Tournament Cash Matrix System:

MCFFU Tournaments that offer cash prizes will have a "Cash Matrix System" in effect that will pre-determine total prize package or purse up for grabs.  The MCFFU Cash Prize Matrix means that the prizes awarded at the participating tournament will be determined by the "total" amount of teams entered into an event, for the style in question.

NOTE: 12 Teams or less offer no cash prizes; however each tournament director has the option to offer a cash prize on their own terms - IT IS NOT MANDATORY TO OFFER CASH PRIZES WITH 12 OR FEWER TEAMS.

tournament Bids:

Bids may also be awarded separately or in conjunction with a cash prize for tournaments with 9 teams or more (depending upon the tournament and the hosting director). Bids MUST be paid by the tournament director for which is was awarded.  The tournament in which the bid is credited to is NOT responsible for the bid if it was not submitted.

NOTE: All teams MUST check to see if their bid was paid BEFORE attending the next tournament. Unpaid bids will result in an automatic disqualification.  MCFFU bids DO NOT include ref fees; teams are always responsible for ref fees at MCFFU events.

Rankings:

All rankings will be based solely on a teams' performance throughout the year on the WC Circuit and will be based on the following criteria:

  • Total point accumulation
  • Total Tournament wins
  • Overalll team record (Wins/Losses) - if necessary

Rankings may be viewed in the NATIONAL RANKINGS section for the entire year for each participating team going into the World Championships.

Qualifying for World Championship Play:

Highest point totals determines where a team is seeded and/or classified in the World Championships - Pro or Open. Teams are seeded by their place of finish in the MCFFU/USSSA National Rankings and total tournament wins.  First time teams registering for the WC will NOT be able to register and/or compete in the Pro (A) Division.

At Large Berths may be granted to certain teams based on the location of sanctioned events and the overall difficulty of attending them consistently by the team(s).  These berths are awarded by the Competition Committee and the MCFFU Board.

Check with each style of play to view the qualifications.
