LAS VEGAS, NV - No. 1 ranked Long Beach All-Stars put the cap on an impressive and record-breaking year by capturing its second-straight World Championship title this past March in Las Vegas, NV.  The All-Stars, who have an impressive record of 49-0-1 over the last 2 seasons, defeated All-Met 6-3 en route to the team's 2nd WC title in as many years.

Long Beach’s 6-3 victory over All-Met (MD) in the World Championship title game was won in an unusual way for the All-stars; they did it more so with defense.  Usually known for posting up double-digit points with their semi-spread offense, the LB All-Stars needed some key turnovers, including a game-ending interception on a batted pass to seal their 2nd World Championship over an opponent who is more than familiar with Long Beach’s style of play.

The All-Star’s defense centered around WC Defensive MVP All Marshall, whose relentless pressure kept All-Met off –balance just enough to keep them out of the end zone; yielding only a field goal.

What makes LB’s 2 year record so impressive is that they have accomplished this in a highly competitive sport where rosters change tournament to tournament, teams rebuild, teams dismantle, local teams become more familiar with your style and where personal life always comes before competing preventing teams from fielding the same team consistently.

What makes a team good in competitive flag football over long stretches, is having a team that has the most dedicated players; meaning they play together as a unit more than other teams do and they compete in major events with the same group of guy’s who all understand the teams’ goals and vision.  LB has been consistent with their key players and overall team numbers; which has provided them with solid team chemistry needed to go undefeated on the WC circuit over the last 2 years.

The Long Beach All-Stars will be making their first appearance on the East Coast this June at the MCFFU Eastern National Championships in VA Beach, VA, where a win will not only place them a great position to take the top seed in the World Championships V 2010 in Las Vegas (NV), but also to silence some critics who refuse to believe LB is as good as their record states.
