It was an "All-Connecticut" final at the 2009 Connecticut NIT with the Chargers (CT) def. Omni (NY) 24-13 and Young Gunz (CT) def. the Silverbacks (RI) in a closely contest match 14-13.  In the Championship Game, the Chargers edging the Young Gunz by a count of 13-7.  QB Rich Lester #18 threw 2 TD passes, while Carl "Shank" Bond had a TD reception and an INT in the win.

With the win the Chargers (CT) now move into 1st place atop the 9-Man Ineligible (Pro) Division with Rhode Island next on the schedule.  A win or a top 4 finish could have the Chargers as the top seed and a softer pool in the VA Beach National Championships in June.

Other notable moves: Omni (NY), Young Gunz (CT) and Silverbacks (RI) move into the top 5, while Real Deal (NJ) and Death Row (NY) make the huge leap into the Sweet 16.  On the down side, ATL Super Stars (GA) fell from the top to the 5th spot and the WC Champ Packers (MD) fall from the 9th overall spot to 15th.
