World Championships I - Dallas, TX - March 2006

In the first ever Flag Football World Championships in 2006, All-Met (MD) def. the Houstons Sleepers (TX) 20-0 in the championship game becoming the first 8v8 Eligible Flag Football World Champions.  This tournament will forever be remembered for a couple of things.  Bringing the best 8-Man Eligible teams from both the East and West together for the first time in the same event and being played in some of the worse weather conditions imaginable.  20+ mph winds, 38 degree weather and 48 hours of strong rain which flooded the city of Dallas. 

Prior to the World Championships there was a 6 month drought in North Texas.  Immediately following the conclusion of the World Championships, Dallas was hit with yet another drought of significant time.  However, the tournament was completed and the 1st 8v8 Eligible World Champions were crowned.

The 2006 All-Met team completed one of the best years ever by a competitive flag team by winning 2 Nationals (AFTFL Nationals and the USFTL Nationals) along with the Flag Football World Title.
