Jaime “Rocket” Bryant (RB/WR) NY Gladiators – The reigning WC Tournament MVP could be an asset to any team looking to make the next step. The Rocket is not necessarily in need of a team with a big-armed QB, because he can make a huge impact on check downs. Any team with speed on the outsides that can clear the field and create space in the middle for one-on0one match-ups with LB’s would be an ideal place. The Gladiators will be the first choice for the Rocket as they look to keep the team intact to fend off all the challengers gunning for them in 2011. Not sure about his relations with local teams like the Young Gunz and Chargers, but he could definitely give them both a tremendous boost and would be a huge asset to both young QB’s. His original team, the Steelers, could be in the mix but that would depend on their rebuilding and commitment to being a Top 16 candidate.
Jon "Jon Jon" Jordan (WR/RB) Baltimore Packers - Jon Jon's big play ability was sorely missed in the 2010-11 World Championships by the 2-time defending champs. The 2009-10 World Championship Tournament MVP played a huge role in the Packers repeat as champions, and ironically an even bigger role in their short-comings this year. This sure-handed speedster can make any team's offense electric. He can run the deep routes and turn short passes into huge gains. He usually teeters back and forth between the Nomads and the Packers, so those would be the two obvious choices. The only thing that could keep him from regoining the Packers would be the Packers inability to show stability within and being unable to convince him that another title run is close. The Nomads can use him from time to time, but until they step up to national competition consistently, look for Jon Jon to remain at a close distance, helping only when he can. There are 1 or 2 more teams eagerly looking to make Jon Jon a teammate. This one is up in the air.
Shawn “Chicken” Rodgers (WR) Real Deal/Paid in Full – One of the circuits most explosive WR’s; Shawn Rodgers, aka Chicken can give a team an outside threat that stretches the defense and gives a team a chance to score from anywhere on the field at anytime. A systematic WR, Rodgers flourishes in timing offenses with big armed QB’s. A NC native, Rodgers would really help out a team like Da Show or even Main Event who struggle with big plays in close games. He would also be a good fit for a team like the Blue Dogs (PA). A move like this for the Blue Dogs (PA) could make that offense virtually unstoppable. But the most likely places would be his former team Real Deal (NJ) or shockingly the Packers (MD).
Carlos Hernandez (QB) Deathrow – after being off the circuit for a full year, Carlos has relocated to Miami, FL where he is looking to compete on the circuit again in 2011. A team like New Era out of Tampa would be a sensible landing place for Carlos because of the 5 WR sets he likes to run and the abundance of speed that New Era possess. Also, in Miami an All-Star like team from the Miami-based 9man league would also make a lot of sense because they struggled to field a team this past WC. Another possibility would be a newly formed team in NY by some of the brass of the former Deathrow squad as rumor has it. But playing anywhere outside of Florida this year maybe a stretch, so look for Hernandez to come with a new Florida-based team on the 2011circuit, which will make reaching the Top 16 that much more difficult.
Adamis "Pito" Gonzalez (WR/KR) Young Gunz - word is there were several courters for the shifty wr/kr while in Sanford for the WC. The leading candidate is believed to be the newly crowned World Champions, the NY Gladiators who are always looking to improve. His roots run deep with the Young Gunz and he is a loyal person; but after seeing the success of another CT based playmaker "the Rocket", the appeal of a World Championship and MVP award may be enough to lure him away to test the waters. Having The Rocket, Crabtree, Torry and Pito could make that Gladiators offense extremely explosive.
Vawn Simms (QB) Yung Crew – Vawn impressed as the QB of the former champs Atlanta Connection a few years back, but was more impressive in the Atlanta National Championships when he defeated the Gladiators who were at the time, All-World 1st Team QB Mike Demartielere 19-0. It was made clear buy the Gladiators that they would love to bring Vawn on as their starting QB. Simms is interested in competing on the 9man circuit but his commitment to his 8v8 team, who plays in a 8v8 Nationals the same weekend as the WC, keeps him from being taken seriously by anyone. He’s desire to compete on the 9man stage is growing and a strong offer could pull him away. A QB that can travel at anytime, has a strong arm, has multiple championships, along with a small group of highly talented skill players at his disposal can help just about any team on the circuit.
Marcus Cameron (DB) Real Deal/Paid in Full - after abruptly leaving a Real Deal team in which he captained the defense, the veteran LB/DB took his talents to Paid in Full only to go 0-4 with a team that ended up ironically losing other key players in Florida. Main Event, Gladiators and Chargers seem to be the obvious choices but only the Chargers are truly in need of a DB/LB of his caliber. The X-factor may be in his relationship with stud WR Shawn “Chicken” Rodgers, who followed him from Real Deal to Paid in Full. A package deal may be in the works and landing with the Chargers could be just what the team needs for 11'.
