World Championships Must See Games...

MCFFU Dallas Fantasy Match-Ups: East vs. West (Pro)

The Flag Football World Championships in Dallas, TX will bring together the best teams in flag football for the first time ever to end all talk about who is the best and settle the East vs. West debate.  The Union has complied a few Fantasy Flag Match-ups of the most compelling could-be games in the Pro Division!

Denver Gamblers (CO) vs. All-Met (MD)

Both teams are fresh off of major tournament wins in their respective regions.  The Gamblers will head the West as the #1 seed in Dallas, TX after winning the MCFFU Las Vegas WDC, while All-Met is coming off of an impressive showing in Orlando.  What makes this match-up so compelling is the fact these are arguably the two most physical teams in their respective conferences.  Both teams have solid, physical defenses and QB’s with above average speed to say the least.  These two well-coached teams are mirror images of each complete with full coaching staffs.  All-Met has the veteran QB, while the Gamblers have the most athletic.

Houston Sleepers (TX) vs. DC Dolphins (DC)

The Sleepers are just that, sleepers to the rest of the country, but teams who have played against them know first hand that they are a very dangerous team with a potentate spread offense that wastes no time between plays and QB that does not miss.  The misconception about the Sleepers is that they are not a physical team based on their screen history, but any West coast team will tell you, they are not afraid of contact and will match you blow for blow.  The DC Dolphins match this with a loaded veteran team that knows how to win on both sides of the ball.  The Phins also have one of the nations best kick return games, allowing them to answer scores or start games off quickly.  This one could be a shootout should they meet.

Young Guns (MD) vs. Quick 6 (UT)

The Young Guns come in to Texas as the top seed of the East after winning the EDC in Atlanta.  This is another well-coached veteran team that knows how to use their blocking backs to open up for their WR’s.  This team features several veterans that can pull out a win in the clutch.  Quick 6 out of Utah is just that; they started the Vegas WDC with an 80-yard TD on their first play from scrimmage.  Plenty of team speed on both sides of the ball and an offense that runs the option well, which opens up their deep passing game and the QB can get it there in a hurry.  Don’t let their home state fool you; they are the West’s best-kept secret.

L.B. All-Stars (CA) vs. Pfuzion (GA)

These two teams have a history, but have never played.  LB All-Stars had a second team in Atlanta called the LB Players that battled with Pfuzion for years until they dismantled.  LB is coming off a strong showing in Vegas finishing 1 win shy of being the top seed in the West.  This is a team that will bang with you and play hard from start to finish with a defense that will keep them in every game.  Pfuzion, who last won a Nationals in 2003 had a better showing in 9-Man than in 8-man in 2005, which shows they can grind it out physically with anyone.  They are heavy with receivers who can make the big plays at anytime and a QB with a gun.  This would come down to LB’s defense vs. Pfuzion’s offense

Sudden Impact (IL) vs. South Bay Ballers (CA)

Sudden Impact finished Orlando in 2nd place and is known for their physical style of play on both sides of the ball, including a punishing running attack.  South Bay is a West coast team with an East coast appeal.  They are extremely physical and posses blazing speed at the skill positions.  This is a team that can also come from nowhere seemingly to win it all.  Do not be surprised to see them competing late on Sunday.  Should this match-up happen, several players might not make it through the first half.

HUH (DC) vs. Daygo Funhouse (CA)

HUH is a team that can come from nowhere and beat any team in the tournament.  They feature several unorthodox offensive formations that usually have defenses confused and out of position just before the snap yielding big plays.  Their defense is good enough to make the key stop, but they will beat you with their offensive scheme.  Daygo Funhouse is another one of those veteran teams that knows how to win.  Funhouse has a strong defensive front and a crafty QB that can make the plays when he finds his rhythm.  This game would be like watch knuckle-ballers in a pitching duel.

Swarm (CA) vs. Ft Worth Rams (TX)

Swarm has a reputation of winning and competing against all styles of offenses and defenses, however the Ft. Worth Rams who are the Sleepers in-state nemesis have the ability to rack up the points in a hurry.  Swarm can adapt with the best of them and would have to score often to keep up.  These two teams can either tilt the scoreboard and the last team with the ball would win this one.

Other teams to watch for in 8-Man Pro: ACE (CO), NX Level Devils (AZ), El Paso Stars (TX), Xavix (CA), Elite (DC), Coleman Clan (DC), Young Crew (GA), Mississippi Titans (MS), Hitmen (LA), Untouchables (GA), Outlaws (TN) and Metro/Oak (CA)
