World Championship Qualifications
Beginning in 2008, the Flag Football World Championships will no longer be an open tournament. Participating teams competing in the Pro Division must
qualify to be eligible to compete in the WC3 by participating in a National
Qualifier, National, National Championship or any MCFFU sanctioned tournament
to be eligible.
All that is required by teams to participate in the 2008 World Championships is a total of 3 C.E.P., which are the minimum points awarded to teams competing in
any MCFFU event – meaning you don’t have to win or finish high to be eligible.
The requirements to qualify for future World Championships will increase and teams will need the following to be eligible:
1. More total C.E.P.’s (TBD by the MCFFU Competition Committee)
2. A controlled roster from teams competing in the National Tournament Series that will be tracked by the Union (in an effort to eliminate team combining and loading up to win the WC).
3. An overall winning record (.500 or better) in national tournament play.
The changes regarding qualifying for the WC will be subtle to allow competitive teams to adjust.
The purpose of the Flag Football World Championships is not to draw unlimited teams, but rather being the stage where the best “QUALIFIED” teams the country
has to offer compete to produce the most “QUALITY” flag football played
anywhere.
