2nd Annual 9-Man Tournament

The final standings were Metro Dawgs 4-1, Carolina Connection 2-2, Unanimous Decision 1-2, and Gamesharks 0-2.

Here is a small summary:

Game 1 featured Unanimous Decision (Char) vs. Gamesharks (Char). It was a defensive struggle throughout but the experience of QB Maseo Bolin propelled UD to a 7- 0 win over the young and inexperienced team of the Gamesharks.

Game 2 featured Metro Dawgs (VA) vs. Carolina Connection (Char). It was posed to be a heavyweight bout and it was. CC edged out MD 16-11 despite Nasty Nelson (QB) of the Dawgs efforts.

Game 3 featured the first game of the loser’s bracket, which put MD vs. GS. MD dominated the whole contest from start to finish and the young GS team was truly out classed and out played to finish the day at 0 - 2. The MD rested up for the loser of CC and UD game.

Game 4 featured a rematch of the regular season championship between UD and CC, where CC won the title. UD jumped out to an early 6 - 0 lead. CC came back and took the lead at 8 - 6. It was a shootout from there, eventually CC pulled out a win 26 - 23 to propel them into the Championship Game.

Game 5 featured to powerhouses in UD and MD. It looked good, and it was a great game and MD edged out UD to put them into the championship game to face CC, which they lost to earlier in the tournament. To win the championship MD would have to beat CC twice, would they be up to the challenge?

Game 6 featured undefeated CC verses crafty MD. A tired and tested Dawgs team totally outplayed and outsmarted the well-rested CC team 16 - 0, in a rout.

Game 7 THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: CC took an early 8 - 3 lead, but the MD came right back and took a 9 - 8 lead at the half. Posed to take the lead CC stalled on the 1 yd line on a controversial call and did not score. With about 8 mins remaining in the game MD drove the length of the field with an impressive score to make the final game score 17 - 8 and win the 2nd Annual 9 man Classic. MD was truly the best team throughout the whole day and QB Nasty Nelson got MVP honors.
