Direction of the U and 9-Man in 2006
Union looks to focus more on 9-man in 2006 season

In 2006 the Union will focus on the 9-Man Ineligible style and offer more tournaments that will lead to the NTS (National Tournaments Series)

  • Eastern Division Championships – Atlanta, GA – December 2006
  • MCFFU World Championships – Dallas, TX – March 2007
  • (9-Man not offered in the Western Division Championships)

9-Man will begin with the 2006 Beach Tournament Series in Ocean City, MD and conclude the season in Hagerstown, MD before beginning the NTS.  Other tournaments on the 9-Man schedule for 2006 include:

  • Atlantic City, NJ (Beach Tournament Series) - June
  • Nashville, TN Mid Summer Invitational – July
  • 2nd Annual Charlotte, NC 9-Man Classic – July
  • Virginia Beach, VA (Beach Tournament Series) – July
  • Hagerstown, MD Eastern Regionals – November
  • Eastern Divisional Championships – Atlanta, GA – December
  • MCFFU World Championships – Dallas, TX – March 2007

The Union is also working to host 9-Man tournaments in Texas and Kansas where 9-man ineligible and 8-Man ineligible teams reside in numbers, but are not currently participating on the Eastern circuit.

The goal of the Union in 2006 will be to increase the level of play in the 9-man division by seeking out other national 9-Man organizations and teams, introducing the 9-Man game in other areas, offering a 9-Man B division and working to increase the overall number of teams participating from the Southern and Central regions.

As a national organization, the Union understands that our job is to continually recruit new teams to enter the national circuit as well as assist in introducing flags most popular styles (such as 9-man) into new areas to help foster the growth and development of the flag game.  Look for the Union to focus more on the 9-Man game and do all we can to increase the level of competition and offer a bigger stage to play on with more to play for.
