MCFFU/USSSA World Championships
ORLANDO, FL - The MCFFU/USSSA will host its 1st Annual Flag Football World Championships for Ineligible and Screen divisions in Orlando, FL – January 16-18.
The goal of the MCFFU/USSSA is to offer an independent National Circuit for Ineligible, Women and Screen divisions that will be featured in the ultimate World Championships in Orlando, FL – Home of the USSSA/MCFFU National Headquarters and the Flag Football Hall of Fame!
Each year teams will compete on the WC Circuit across the country in order to qualify for the top division by accumulating the required points set by the MCFFU/USSSA and an above .500 winning percentage . The lower divisions will remain open to all teams who have either a below .500 overall record in National Competition, competed all season in the B or lower division(s) and/or are competing for the first time in WC competition. NOTE: This years' event WILL BE open to ALL teams
Each event on the WC Circuit will be independently run and operated. Prizes, formats and awards may vary.
Divisions will include:
World Championship Format: The tournament will be played using the MCFFU World Championship format with a guaranteed 3 games beginning with (1) on Friday and concluding with (2) on Saturday. (Screen and 4-Man division start Saturday )
Based on the total team entry, a percentage of the top teams of each pool will advance to the single-elimination rounds on Sunday for each style.
Top teams advancing to the single-elimination round may be eligible to receive a bye during the first round of single-elimination; and there may also be “Play-in” games for teams tied for the final spots. All scenarios will be based on total team participation.
Tournament Qualifiers in 2009: Starting in 2009, the MCFFU/USSSA will release a complete schedule of 9-Man Ineligible, 8-Man Ineligible, Women and Screen sanctioned events held throughout the country, where teams can receive points for seeding and rankings for the World Championships.
The schedule will be discussed, completed and released during the World Championships. All organizations and/or individuals who are looking to have their events on the World Championships Circuit must contact the MCFFU at mcffu@mcffu.com before January 1st, 2009.
NOTE: The 8-Man Eligible, Semi-Contact, Co-Ed, Women and 5-Man World Championships will be held in Las Vegas, NV in March of 2009 |
