Response to Recent Attacks... For one, continually defending ourselves from persons and organizations who have absolutely no idea about the Union or what we have and have not done is getting old. The problem between our organization and you other organizations is that we don’t’ see eye-to-eye. You guys never saw eye-to-eye before we began, so expecting you to agree with us is completely out of the question.
First, the MCFFU has at one point in time, attempted to work with each of you national organizations and were either turned down or turned off. (This neither of you can deny). During this time, each of you expressed your dislike and distrust of one another but now you trust what the other has to say about us? Why ask a competitor about our organization and expect an unbiased answer? Why listen to someone you, yourself do not trust? Had you worked together in the first place, there would be no Union. Had you listened to the teams and players around you, they would not be talking to us.
About all this nonsense regarding us hosting tournaments on the same weekend; we're going to make it as simple as we can. Each of those tournaments in question were requested by “Directors” or “Teams” from those organizations in those areas themselves. Allow us to repeat that – (Each of those tournaments in question were requested by “Directors” or “Teams” from those organizations in those areas themselves). So before you try to play the role of the “Good Samaritan” and say we are breaking the unwritten rule of hosting tournaments on the same weekend, we not only suggest that you talk with your “Teams” and “Directors”, but check your own history of operation.
Just like every organization, we have made mistakes, we make mistakes and will continue to make mistakes – no one is perfect. But the idea of comparing our first year of existence to any of your organization’s 15th year of existence is ridiculous. Compare our first year with your first year and lets go from there.
We personally take offense to the “Bill Williams” comment because at “no time” did we ever say we were running the AFA Nationals like the Boston organization did. Ours was called the MCFFU Western Division Championships. The AFA knew of us prior to Mr. Williams’ passing and we had teams that committed then. Did we get more due to the unfortunate situation? Yes, but we outworked the other organization who had all the AFA information, with AFA posted on their site and teams registering not knowing the AFA was no longer. We at least named our trophy after Mr. Williams – why haven’t you questioned the other organization who used the name about sending the family money? They used the name, we didn’t.
As for the referee organization, no we do not have an official one at this time. However, considering the feedback from some of your events, what’s the difference if we did or didn’t? We can say we are working with certified college football officials and will be expanding from there, again year 1. So you are right, we will say we are working on one as well as a few other things.
Lastly, your comment about let the buyer beware – what is there to be afraid of when we are actually seen at EVERY major tournament to resolve questions for both on and off-field issues and actually spend time on the phones discussing concerns of teams?
What teams need to beware of are the organizations they never see or hear from until its money collecting time. Beware of those who feel they have nothing to prove to the them any longer. Beware of those who believe improving their product is by pointing out the mistakes of others, concealing thier own faults. We understand that your history allows you to operate in a “take it or leave it” mode and we cannot, but after your latest response it’s obvious that the MCFFU is not the organization feeling the heat.
Please understand, we have never told anyone not to participate in any of your events and never will. Ask the NEFFA President whom we told personally to join one of you before committing to us? (Go to the website http://www.newenglandflagfootball.com/ and ask the President yourself) We tell everyone who is undecided, to go to another organization first because we have enough confidence in what we are doing and we know that sooner than later you will show what you always do – nothing.
Getting blasted for our mistakes and faults by our paying teams/players is one thing – being blasted by another organization whose total national operation is completely hollow and regional will not happen. We strongly suggest that each of you take care of your in-house issues first and stop trying to go public with your issues concerning us - like we tell everyone else, pick up the phone or let it go. Lead by example, or get out of our way. We hope this answers all of your questions…. |
